The Green Frog Festival Under Reconstruction Wilburton Main Street, Inc. announces that the Green Frog Festival, held for the last five years on the third weekend in April, will not be held this year. The Board of Directors voted in Monday’s Board meeting to form a committee to reconstruct and reorganize the Festival and bring it back better than ever in 2013. As many people know, the April weather has been a large problem for the Festival. A new date needs to be found, new partnerships need to be formed, and volunteers need to be found to put on the very best Festival that Wilburton Main Street can produce to show visitors just how great this part of the state is. Anyone wishing to be a part of the reorganization can call the Main Street office at 918-465-2254. Messages will be returned promptly. The Green Frog Puddle Jump Run Will Be Held Even though the Green Frog Festival will not be held in 2012, the Fourth Annual Green Frog Puddle Jump 5K Run and 1Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The run will be a USATF sanctioned run, following the Puddle Jump Course in south Wilburton. The Run begins and ends at the A-OK Railroad Station on South Central Street. Registration forms and sponsorship opportunities will be posted on the Wilburton Main Street website, wilburtonmainstreet.com as soon as they are available. ________________________________________________________________________________

Fireworks over Lake Carlton Each year for the 4th of July the Wilburton Fire Department raises money and puts on a spectacular show at Robbers Cave State Park. Bring you chairs or blankets and come early for the pre- fireworks festivities. This has become quite and event. Remember to support the fire department in this endeavor. ________________________________________________________________________________ 26th Annual Robbers Cave Fall Festival October 19th, 20th & 21st, 2012 Annual Car Show SATURDAY ONLY. The fall festival is the biggest event of the year, drawing people from across the state and the country. You can enjoy food, arts, crafts, entertainment, and carnival rides in one of the most beautiful settings in the state. In conjunction with the festival is the "Fall Foliage Cruise" which takes place on Saturday of the festival. It is one of the biggest car shows you will see, drawing nearly 500 Custom and Classic Cars. 5K Run will be held October 20th in conjunction with the Robbers Cave Fall Festival, sponsored by the Friends of Robbers Cave State Park Assc. The Run will use the certified route normally used for the Green Frog Festival. Additional information will be given at a later date. Robbers Cave State Park is located 5 miles north of Wilburton on Hwy 2 N.
